Il fascino di Beijing: immagini tra passato e futuro
As part of the International Biennial of Culture "Vie della Seta" (The Silk Road), 100 giant posters signed by popular photographers, illustrating the beauty, attractions and contradictions of one of the most important cities of the world: Beijing.
Ma Yixing, Li Jiang, Xu Pei, Wei Jianguo, Zheng Shanlu and Song Di are some of the Chinese photographers on display in this exhibition. Among the foreigners, the National Geographic reporter Paul Chesley (USA), former French President Chirac's private photographer Philippe Bourgeois, Brigitte Hiss (Germany) and Mochizuki Hisashi (Japan), that is also President of the Japan-China Association of Photo Culture Exchange.
Beijing is famous worldwide because of its long history and rich cultural heritage, for its hidden archaeological treasures and enchanting natural wonders, for the crowded streets, magnificent towers, memorial arches, grand palaces, Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, a well preserved section of the Great Wall and the Temple of Heaven, the largest sacrificial complex in the world.
The exhibition combines traditionional images with those of a modern city.
